Masoor Dal Recipe / Red lentil Curry
|1||cup red split lentils|
|4||cup water; add more if necessary|
|1||tbsp ghee or butter|
|1||small onion, peeled and finely chopped|
|1||salt or salt to taste|
|1||cilantro, finely chopped|
|½||Garam Masala, to garnish|
Method of Preparation:
wash lentils in five changes of water until water runs clear. In a Medium pot, add enough water to cover lentis and salt. Cover with a lid and simmer on medium heat for 10-15 minutes untils are thoroughly cooked. Masoor Dal Recipe
In a separate pan, melt ghee or butter on medium high heat. Add onions and fry until softned.
Add Curry Masala and salt to taste , if necessary. Fry masala until all the spices have blended.
Add cooked lentils to spice mixture. Cover and simmer until lentils thicken.
To serve, garnish with chopped cilantro and a sprinkle of Garam Masala. Serve hot with rice.
